Your gallery is sealed until your event date — this is intentional, and it's one of our favourite features. Guests can start recording the moment you share the link, but the gallery stays locked until the day itself so the reveal is saved for when it matters most. You'll receive an email each time a new message arrives, so you'll know they're coming in — you'll just have to wait to watch them. Think of it as your most anticipated gift.
Yes — you can see a live message count at any time from your gallery page, even while it's sealed. You'll know exactly how many guests have recorded without being able to watch the content. You'll also receive an email notification each time a new message comes in, so you always know when someone has left one.
Yes — gift purchasing is fully supported. Select "Buy as a Gift" at checkout and we'll send the recipient a personalised gift notification with a redemption link. They set up their own guestbook (add their names, event date, and we personalise everything to them), and their welcome email and storage period are all tied to their event date. You don't need to know any of their details upfront.
Your storage starts from your event date, not the day you buy. If you purchase 3-month storage and your event is 6 months away, your guestbook stays live for 9 months from today — you're never penalised for buying early. The expiry date is confirmed in your welcome email.
Your page is completely private. It's not listed anywhere, not searchable on Google, and not shared on social media by us — ever. Only people you share the link with can find it. Your message gallery is additionally password-protected, so even if someone had the guest link, they still can't view the messages without your password.
Guests can leave video messages, audio-only messages, written notes, selfie + caption combos, and advice cards — they choose whichever format suits them best. No special equipment needed, just a phone or laptop. Most guests record a short video, but every format is just as meaningful.
They don't need to be. Guests simply tap your link or scan a QR code — no account to create, no app to download, nothing to install. If they can send a text message, they can leave a video message. We've had guests in their 80s and 90s leave beautiful messages without any help at all.
Yes. Once your guestbook is live, log in to your private gallery and upload a hero photo — a venue shot, couple photo, or anything that captures the occasion. It displays at the top of your guest recording page. Your page also comes styled to your event type (wedding, birthday, tribute, and more) with matching colours and copy throughout.
Any occasion worth remembering. Weddings are our most popular use, but we're used just as often for milestone birthdays (21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th+), baby showers, retirement parties, funerals and memorial services, end-of-school celebrations, and farewell events. If you're gathering people together — in person or from across the world — The Social Aisle gives them all a voice.
Absolutely — that's one of the things The Social Aisle does best. Guests can record or write from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. We have customers whose guests have joined from over 17 countries in a single event. No international fees, no barriers, no excuses for distant family to miss out.
We'll send you a reminder email before your page expires — we never let messages disappear without warning. Before that date, simply download your full gallery (video and written messages included) to keep forever on your own device. Nothing is deleted without notice, and your downloads are yours to keep permanently regardless of what happens to your plan. Your storage period counts from your event date — not the day you purchased — so buying early never costs you a day of storage.
Yes. If you'd like to keep your page live for longer, simply contact us before your current period ends and we'll sort an extension for you. We'd rather help you hold onto those messages than lose them.
You're always in control. Your gallery is private and only visible to you, so no guest ever sees another guest's message. If you need to remove something, you can delete individual messages directly from your host dashboard. You can also reach out to our team and we'll help immediately.
We offer a straightforward refund policy. If your event hasn't happened yet and your page hasn't received any messages, get in touch and we'll take care of you. Because this is a digital product that's active from the moment of purchase, we assess refunds on a case-by-case basis — but we're a small, human team and we always aim to do the right thing.
